Dear Parent:

Welcome to My World Child Care Center !

I am excited to inform you that starting September 2017, we will be transitioning our 3 to 6 year olds classrooms from the traditional approach to a Montessori approach. We at My World are dedicated to ensure that your child receives the highest quality education. With this objective in mind, we have decided to adopt the Montessori method. Montessori curriculum builds a foundation for lifetime of learning. It fosters skills of independence, self-confidence, and leadership in each student.

At My World we are implementing proven methods, and learning best practices from trusted and renowned educators. I am happy to share that I am enrolled with Princeton Center for Teacher Education (PCTE) since March 2017 for American Montessori Society Early Childhood teacher certification. I will be at PCTE this summer from June 19th to August 4th to finish my academic phase. From this formal training, and learning and networking with the best and brightest in the field, our goal is to provide the highest value to our children, and best prepare our school for the Montessori curriculum starting Sept. 2017.

The goal of Montessori early childhood education is to cultivate the child’s natural desire to learn. The Montessori will help us meet the young child’s social, academic and emotional needs. The materials in the classroom will be appealing to 3 to 6 year olds and will be grouped into distinct areas related to practical life activities, sensorial exercise, mathematics, language arts, and cultural studies. Because young children are naturally curious about the world around them, they will be introduced to geography and the methods of scientific exploration. The visual arts, crafts, creative music, movement, and dramatics will be woven into the classroom schedule.
To fulfill our mission of being a truly exceptional school, we as a community must work together. A strong bond between the home and school is essential for student success. Therefore, it is vital that you become as involved as possible in the school community in order that your child can thrive at our school. I truly feel that by working together, we will achieve our common goals and help your children reach their fullest potential.
